National Elle Championship which will be Organized by Elle federation of Sri Lanka in every year . It had been grand event of this sport. It was National sport more than two decade ago. every year organizers select Excellent Elle player and excellent Elle team . Seventy five elle team participated this year.
This year final match between Thotalaga Aruna belong to Colambo District in Western province. And Rangammulla Ekshath Putthalam District in Vayamba province. Both team very excellent in elle filed. final match between these teams was held on 12 Aug 2012 at Sugathadasa Stadium under lights. This was First elle match under light in the elle history.
Chief Guest was Sri Lanka president honorable Mahinda Rajapakshe.Who struck the first ball and opened the ground at 06.30 p.m. large crowed of elle supporters well wishers gathered for cheering both team.
Thotalaga Aruna team took six (06) runs for there first innings.all players fo the team batted well but excellent filed by all team members of Ranggammulla ekshath.
Rangammulla Ekshath who took seven (07) runs for there first innings. Thotalaga Aruna took only three (03) runs for their second innings Rangammulla Eksath who need to three (03) runs for their victory. And they took them out of three players.
Harri Lasly former Handala Eksath excellent elle Player, Member of elle referees Association of Sri Lanka elle and several years National elle player of the year (Jathika elle suraya) who was chief referee of this grand event. Wasantha Kumara and Shiran Perera Assists him both of them were Member of elle referees Association of Sri Lanka elle.
Prasident of elle federation Western province member Ananda Harischandra ,Secritsry of elle federation Siripala Ranasinghe and Chief organizer of elle Chamara Serasinghe also present this occasion. All of them were former excellent elle players in Sri Lanka. They played Udammita Gaminee,Yakkaduwa Weera Gaminee and Thotalaga Aruna Respectively.
